Plan for 60 minutes. Bring your imaging report or doctor's note if you have one. Reply OK to confirm. ### Labs, imaging and missed appointments > Lab draw on \[Date\] at \[Time\], \[Name\]. Fast for 12 hours beforehand, water is fine, and take morning medication unless told otherwise. Reply YES to confirm. Results post to your portal in two to three business days. > \[Name\], your MRI at \[Practice\] is on \[Date\] at \[Time\]. Reply with a day that works or call \[Phone\] and we get you rescheduled this week. ## Tips for clinics texting patients ### Send 24 to 48 hours ahead Two days out for appointments with prep such as fasting or a full bladder, so patients can plan. One day out for everything else. ### Minimum necessary, every time HIPAA allows reminders with consent, but keep them to date, time, place and provider. No reason for visit, no results, no diagnosis codes. ### Document consent A line on the intake form that covers text reminders, plus a chart note when a patient opts out. Honor STOP replies the same day. ### One instruction per sentence Fasting, medication, what to bring and what to leave home each get their own short sentence. Skimmers catch sentences, not clauses. ### Give a sick-day route Tell patients to call before coming if they have a fever. It keeps the waiting room safer and converts a no-show into a telehealth visit. ### Reply options that need no typing YES, a number or a button. Patients who are older, in pain or driving will not type a sentence, but they will tap. ## Confirming tomorrow's schedule without the phone tree The appointment confirmations page on Eventi takes tomorrow's schedule as a pasted list, drops each patient's time and provider into the message, and sends it over WhatsApp with Confirm, Reschedule and Cancel buttons. Patients without WhatsApp get the same wording as a text from a toll-free number. Reminders go only to patients who have not answered, inside the hours you set.
