A birthday party RSVP website is a single page with the when, the where, a line about what to expect and a button guests tap to say they are coming. You can build one free on Eventi in about ten minutes - pick a design, add the details, turn on the RSVP, publish - and share the link in the group chat or, better, as a WhatsApp or text message with Yes and No buttons so the headcount fills itself in. It works the same for a six-year-old’s party at the park, a fortieth at a restaurant, a surprise party you need to keep off the shared calendar and an open-house afternoon where people drift in and out.

This guide covers what to put on the page for each kind of birthday, which RSVP questions are worth asking, how to keep a home address off the open internet, and how to handle a surprise. For the general version that covers showers, reunions and work events, see [free RSVP website for any event](/blog/free-rsvp-website-for-any-event).

## What goes on a birthday party page

- Who the party is for and who is hosting - “Leo is turning 6! Hosted by Sarah and Mark.”
- Date, start time and end time. For kids’ parties the end time is the most-read line on the page.
- The address with a map link, parking or where to be dropped off, and the gate code if there is one.
- What to expect in one or two lines: food, cake, a theme, whether parents stay, whether to bring a swimsuit.
- A gifts line if people will ask - “no gifts, please” or “Leo is into dinosaurs and books.”
- The RSVP button with the reply-by date, and a phone number for the day.

That is the whole page. If you want to see what the flow looks like for a guest, the [birthday RSVP page](/birthday-rsvp) shows it, and the designs are in the [template gallery](/wedding-website/templates) - Garden and Botanical suit kids’ parties and outdoor afternoons, Editorial and Navy suit a dinner.

## By kind of birthday

### Kids’ party

Parents are the guests here, and they want three things: the end time, whether they stay, and whether food will be enough for the siblings who tag along. Say all three on the page. Ask for allergies on the RSVP. If the party is at a venue with a headcount, say the reply-by date is real and why - “the trampoline park needs names by Thursday.”

### Milestone birthday: 30th, 40th, 50th and up

Usually a dinner or a bigger party, often with a toast. The page should set the tone - casual drinks or a seated dinner - and the dress. If partners are welcome, say so; if it is a fixed table, use the RSVP to ask for the exact number. A short line about the honoree keeps it warm without turning into a speech.

### Surprise party

The page itself is the risk. Password the site, do not post the link in any chat the honoree is in, and send it person to person or as a direct message with the reply buttons. Put “SURPRISE - please do not mention it to Dana” at the very top, and give an arrival window that ends before the honoree walks in. More on this below.

### Adult dinner at a restaurant

The RSVP matters most here because the restaurant will ask for a number. Set a reply-by date a few days before the restaurant’s cutoff, ask about dietary needs, and say on the page how the bill works - hosted, split, or each pays their own. Nobody wants to find out at the table.

### Open house

“Drop by any time between 2 and 6.” The RSVP question changes: instead of a headcount, ask roughly when they will stop by so you can pace the food. The page can be shorter than any of the others.

## The RSVP questions that matter

Question

When to ask it

Why

How many from your household?

Always

Siblings, partners and grandparents all count for food and seats

Any allergies or things you do not eat?

Any party with food

Catches the nut allergy before the cake is ordered

Will you stay for cake?

Kids' parties with a fixed schedule

Tells you when to light the candles

Roughly what time will you come?

Open houses

Paces the food and the host

Coming with a partner?

Adult dinners with a fixed table

The restaurant needs an exact number

Can you help with setup or pickup?

Big kids' parties

Gets you two extra pairs of hands without a separate text

Keep it to two or three questions on the same screen as the yes. Every extra field loses a few guests. The [online RSVP](/online-rsvp) lets you add or remove questions per event, and answers land in a guest list you can sort by yes, no and no reply.

## Privacy when the party is at home

Your address and a date on which you will be busy should not be on Google. Eventi sites are hidden from search engines by default; you would have to flip a switch to make one findable. For a party at home, add the one-click password as well and share it in the same message as the link. The [password guide](/blog/wedding-website-password-ideas) has ideas that are easy to type on a phone. Guests’ names and answers are never on the public page; only you see them in the guest list.

## Handling a surprise party

- Password the site, and make the password something the honoree would not guess from the page.
- Send the link by direct message or as a personal WhatsApp or text invitation, never in a chat the honoree is in.
- Put the arrival window on the page - “please arrive between 6:30 and 6:50; Dana walks in at 7” - and repeat it in the final reminder.
- Give one phone number for the day that is not the honoree’s partner, who will be busy keeping the secret.
- After the party, the site can become the thank-you page with the photos.

## Three wording examples

Kids’ party, in the parents’ voice:

> Leo is turning six and he would love his friends at the park on Saturday, May 9, from 2 to 4. Pizza, cake and a lot of running around. Parents are welcome to stay or drop off. Please let us know by Wednesday and tell us about any allergies. No gifts needed - your kid is the gift.

Milestone dinner:

> Priya is turning 40 and we are marking it with dinner at Lucia on Friday, March 20 at 7:30. Dinner is on us; drinks are on you. Partners welcome. The restaurant needs our number by March 13, so please tap Yes or No below by then. Dress like it is a nice Friday.

Surprise:

> SURPRISE - please do not mention this to Dana. We are celebrating her 30th at our place on Saturday, June 6. Arrive between 6:30 and 6:50; she walks in at 7. Parking is on Elm, not in the driveway. Text Mark at the number below if you are running late, and please RSVP by June 1 so we know how many we are hiding.

More wording, including casual, last-minute and adult-party versions, is in [40+ birthday invitation messages for WhatsApp](/blog/birthday-invitation-messages-for-whatsapp).

## Sharing the link so people actually reply

A link in a group chat gets scrolled past. The option that gets answers is sending the invitation as a WhatsApp or text message with Yes and No buttons under it, which Eventi does from a business number; the guest taps, the count updates, and reminders go to the people who have not answered until they do. That is the paid part of Eventi, priced per invitation on the [pricing page](/pricing); the site and the RSVP stay free. If you would rather send the link yourself, a personal message per family works for a small party, and the reminder wording in [RSVP reminder templates](/blog/rsvp-reminder-wording) keeps the follow-up friendly. The reminders stop for each guest the moment they answer, as [this note on reminder rounds](/blog/reminders-that-stop-when-guests-answer) explains, and the full set of sharing options - QR codes included - is in [how to share your event website](/blog/how-to-share-your-wedding-website).

The same builder that makes a [wedding website](/wedding-website) makes a birthday page - it is just shorter. Build it, publish it, send it, and let the RSVP count itself.
