You can set up a free RSVP website for any event in about fifteen minutes: pick a design, add the date, time, place and a short note, turn on the RSVP, and share the link. Eventi’s event website builder is free to build and publish with the RSVP included, with no guest limit and no subscription, and it works for a birthday party, a baby shower, a reunion, a retirement dinner, a holiday party or a company offsite just as well as for a wedding. Guests open the link on their phone, tap Yes or No, and your headcount updates on its own.

This guide covers what an event website with RSVP should contain, how the RSVP itself should work so you are not chasing people, the privacy settings worth turning on, and how to share the link so people actually reply. If your event is a wedding, the [wedding website builder](/wedding-website) and the [step-by-step guide](/blog/how-to-make-a-wedding-website) go deeper on that case.

## What a free RSVP website should include

Most events need far less than a wedding. The job of the page is to answer “when, where, what should I know, and how do I tell you I’m coming” without a scroll. A good single-page event site has:

- The event name and who is hosting, in one line.
- Date, start time and an end time if there is one. People plan around end times more than you think.
- The address with a map link, plus parking or transit in a sentence.
- A short note on what to expect: dress, food, whether kids are welcome, whether to bring anything.
- The RSVP button, with the reply-by date next to it.
- One line about gifts if the event is the kind where people will ask.

That is the whole page for a birthday or a dinner. A shower or reunion might add a photo and a line about the guest of honor. A company event might add an agenda. If you find yourself writing a fourth paragraph, move it to an FAQ section below the fold; the [FAQ examples](/blog/wedding-website-faq-examples) written for weddings adapt to any event.

## How the RSVP should work

The difference between an RSVP page that gets answers and one that does not is friction. Every extra field, login or app install loses a few more guests. The setup that works:

### One tap to answer

The guest opens the link and sees two or three buttons - coming, not coming, not sure yet. No account, no password, no form with eight fields. On Eventi each guest can get a personal link that already knows who they are, so the page does not even ask for a name. Guests without a personal link find their invitation by entering their phone number.

### The right follow-up questions, and no others

After a yes, ask only what you need to plan: how many from this household, dietary notes if there is a meal, a song request if it is that kind of party. Put the follow-up on the same screen as the yes so there is no second page to abandon. The [online RSVP](/online-rsvp) lets you add or remove these questions per event.

### A live count you do not maintain

Answers should land in a guest list you can sort by yes, no and no reply - not in an inbox you tally by hand. If you have been running events from a shared spreadsheet, the article on [spreadsheets vs automatic tracking](/blog/wedding-rsvp-spreadsheet-vs-automatic-tracking) explains what changes when the count maintains itself.

### Reminders that stop when people answer

Most of the work in collecting RSVPs is the reminders. Set a reply-by date, schedule one or two nudges to people who have not answered, and make sure the nudges stop the moment someone replies. Eventi does this automatically when the invitation goes out as a message; see [reminders that stop when guests answer](/blog/reminders-that-stop-when-guests-answer) and the wording in [RSVP reminder templates](/blog/rsvp-reminder-wording).

## Setting up an RSVP website in six steps

1. Create the event with the name, date, time and address. This becomes the first screen of the site.
2. Choose a design. Pick by the mood of the event: Garden or Botanical for showers and outdoor parties, Navy or Editorial for dinners and work events, Mediterranean for anything in the sun. All six are in the [template gallery](/wedding-website/templates).
3. Let the AI draft the welcome and the details from what you entered, then edit the lines that need your voice.
4. Turn on the RSVP and choose the follow-up questions - headcount, food, anything else you need.
5. Set the privacy: the site is hidden from search engines by default, and you can add a password in one click. More on both in [password ideas](/blog/wedding-website-password-ideas).
6. Publish. The site lives at an address like ueventi.com/sites/mias-30th, and the link is ready to send.

For a birthday specifically, the [birthday party RSVP website](/blog/birthday-party-rsvp-website) guide covers kids’ parties, milestone birthdays and surprise parties, and the [birthday RSVP page](/birthday-rsvp) shows the flow guests see.

## Privacy: who can see your event page

A page with your home address and a date on it should not be on Google. Eventi sites are hidden from search engines by default; if you want a public event to be found, there is a one-click “show in search engines” opt-in. You can also add a password, which is sensible for anything at a private home or for a surprise party where the honoree might stumble on the link. Guests’ names and answers are never on the public page - only you see them in the guest list.

## How to share the link so people reply

Where you send the link matters more than how the page looks. An email gets opened late or not at all; a message in a chat people already check gets tapped. The options, from most to least effective:

- A WhatsApp or text message with reply buttons under the invitation, sent by Eventi from a business number. The guest taps the button in the chat; the site is one tap away if they want details. This is the paid part of Eventi, priced per invitation at $0.45 with a $15 minimum order, and the reminders are included. See the [pricing page](/pricing).
- A personal message from you with the link, one guest at a time. Free, and fine for twenty people.
- A group chat post with the link. Free, fast, and easy to lose in the scroll; follow up individually.
- An email with the link. Best as a backup for people who do not text.
- A QR code on a printed card or poster, which opens the site. Good for open-house events and offices.

The full playbook, including QR codes and save-the-dates, is in [how to share your event website](/blog/how-to-share-your-wedding-website), and the templates in [WhatsApp invitation templates for any event](/blog/whatsapp-message-templates-for-event-invitations) give you the words.

## Free RSVP website vs the alternatives

A plain group text works until the fifth “what time again?”. A shared document works until two people edit the same cell. Evite-style services work but put ads around your event and your guests’ inboxes. Partiful is good for casual parties and thin on anything formal; the [Partiful alternative](/blog/partiful-alternative-for-weddings) article and the [free RSVP trackers comparison](/blog/free-rsvp-trackers-compared) go through the trade-offs. What an event website with RSVP gives you that none of those do is one page that stays current, one count that stays accurate, and one link you can send anywhere.

Building and publishing an event website on Eventi is free for every event, with the RSVP included and no guest limit. The optional paid parts are a custom domain ($29 once) and delivering the invitation as a WhatsApp or SMS message with reply buttons.
