Yes, a wedding website on Eventi is free: you build it, publish it and keep it up without paying, the RSVP is included, and it is hidden from search engines unless you choose otherwise. The paid parts are optional and separate - a custom domain, and delivering the invitation as a WhatsApp or SMS message with reply buttons. The thirteen questions below are the ones couples ask before they trust a free site with their wedding, answered the way a help page should answer them: directly, and with the catch named when there is one.

For the product itself, see the [wedding website page](/wedding-website); for a step-by-step build, [how to make a wedding website](/blog/how-to-make-a-wedding-website).

## Is the wedding website really free?

Yes. Building, publishing and hosting the site are free for every event, with no trial period, no time limit and no guest cap. There is no fee to publish and nothing to upgrade to in order to keep the site live. We can do this because our paid product is something else: delivering invitations as messages. Couples who never use that get a free site with the [RSVP](/online-rsvp) included, and that is the whole arrangement.

## So what do you charge for?

Two things, both optional. First, sending the invitation as a WhatsApp or SMS message with Yes and No buttons under it, with automatic reminders to guests who have not answered: $0.45 per invitation, with a $15 minimum order. Second, a custom domain, which is a one-time $29. Both are on the [pricing page](/pricing). If you share the site link yourself and use the hosted address, you pay nothing.

## Can guests find my site on Google?

Not unless you want them to. Every site is hidden from search engines by default: it carries the instruction that tells Google and the others not to index it. If you are hosting something public and want it findable, there is a one-click “show in search engines” opt-in in the site settings. Flip it back and the page drops out of search again over the following days. Guests who have the link can always open it; hidden from search does not mean hidden from them.

## Can I password protect the site?

Yes, in one click, at no cost. Choose a password guests can type on a phone, put it in the invitation message or on the save-the-date, and the site asks for it before showing anything. It is worth using for a private home address, a destination wedding where the villa is on the travel page, or a surprise party. The [password ideas](/blog/wedding-website-password-ideas) post covers choosing and sharing one.

## Does the site show my guests’ names or answers?

No. The public page shows what you put on it - your names, the schedule, the travel details. Guest names, phone numbers, RSVP answers, meal choices and notes live only in your guest list, which only you and anyone you invite to your workspace can see. A guest opening their personal link sees their own invitation and their own answer, not anyone else’s. If you want a partner, a parent or a planner to see the list, invite them to the workspace rather than sharing your login; they get the same view, and you can remove them after the wedding. Nothing a guest types into the RSVP is ever shown to another guest, and we do not sell or share the guest list. The same rules apply to the photos you upload: they are shown on your page and nowhere else.

## Can I take the site down?

Yes, whenever you like. Unpublish and the address stops working; delete and the content is gone. If the site was opted into search, removing it also removes it from our public directory and sitemap, and search engines drop the page on their next visit. You can also simply leave it up as a keepsake with a thank-you and photos, which many couples do.

## What address does the site get?

A name you choose on our domain, in the form ueventi.com/sites/your-name - for example ueventi.com/sites/emma-and-james. Pick something short that you can say out loud at a dinner table; the [name ideas](/blog/wedding-website-name-ideas) post has a hundred of them and the rules. The name is yours for as long as the site is up.

## Can I use my own domain?

Yes. A custom domain like emmaandjames.com is a one-time $29, which covers connecting it and the security certificate; there is no renewal with us. This is the one place our pricing differs from the big wedding platforms, which bill the domain yearly - as of October 2026, Zola lists domains from $17.99 a year and The Knot charges $19.99 a year. Whether you need a domain at all is a fair question: most guests tap a link from a message and never type an address.

## Does the RSVP cost anything?

No. The RSVP is part of the free site. Guests tap Yes or No, answer the follow-up questions you set - how many, meal choice, dietary notes - and the answer lands against their name in your guest list. Each guest can have a personal link that already knows who they are, and guests without one find their invitation by entering their phone number. The only cost in the RSVP flow is if you choose to deliver the invitation as a message with buttons rather than sharing the link yourself.

## Is there Eventi branding on the site?

A small “Built with Eventi” badge in the footer, and nothing else: no ads, no registry prompts, no vendor listings. The page is yours. If you compare that with free sites elsewhere, the difference is less about the badge and more about what surrounds it; the [builders comparison](/blog/best-wedding-website-builders) goes through it platform by platform.

## What happens to the site after the wedding?

Nothing, unless you want it to. The site stays up, free, for as long as you leave it. Couples typically edit it the week after with a thank-you note and a few photos, since every guest already has the link. If you bought a custom domain, it keeps pointing at the site. If you would rather the site disappear, unpublish it.

## Can I edit the site after publishing?

Yes, as often as you like, and changes are live immediately at the same address. That is the main reason a website beats a printed card: the shuttle time moves, the rain plan kicks in, and the site is right within a minute. You can also ask the AI builder for changes in plain words - “add a Sunday brunch to the schedule” - or edit any section by hand. The [what to put on your site](/blog/what-to-put-on-your-wedding-website) checklist is a good edit pass before the invitations go out.

## Can I use it for something other than a wedding?

Yes. The same builder, the same six designs in the [template gallery](/wedding-website/templates) and the same free RSVP work for a birthday, a shower, a reunion, a retirement dinner or a company event. The pages are just shorter. See [free RSVP website for any event](/blog/free-rsvp-website-for-any-event) and the [birthday party version](/blog/birthday-party-rsvp-website).

If a question is not here, the [FAQ examples](/blog/wedding-website-faq-examples) post covers what to tell your guests, and [how much a wedding website costs](/blog/how-much-does-a-wedding-website-cost) covers the money across every platform, ours included.
