A shared Google Sheet is how most people start tracking wedding RSVPs, and for a small guest list it’s genuinely fine. The friction shows up later - usually two to three weeks before the deadline, when a third of the list still hasn’t answered.

## Where the spreadsheet approach breaks down

-   Someone has to manually re-check who’s missing, every time you want an update.
-   Reminders mean texting or calling each person individually - and remembering who you already reminded.
-   A reply that comes back as a text message or phone call has to be typed into the sheet by hand, so it’s only ever as current as your last update.
