Barsi: 11 ready messages

# Invitation message for barsi
for the first death anniversary, the puja and the meal that follows.

An invitation message for a barsi is written softly. It names the person, gives the date of the puja and the shraddh, says where the bhandara or the meal is, and asks relatives to come and pay their respects. Below are eleven messages Indian families send on WhatsApp for a first death anniversary: the formal message from the sons, a shraddh at a temple, a prayer meet in the evening, and templates you can fill in with your own words.

## First death anniversary invitation messages with puja and bhandara

## What to include in a barsi invitation message

Check the message covers these points before you send it, so no guest has to ask you for details later.

- The full name of the person with the late or Shri and Smt., the way the family writes it.
- The date and the time of the puja or shraddh, and the time of the bhandara or meal as a separate line.
- The venue with a landmark, whether it is the home, a temple hall or a ghat.
- Who is inviting, usually the sons or the whole family by surname.
- A quiet request for presence, and a reply-by date tied to the prasad.

### Before you send

- Keep it short and plain. A barsi message gives the facts and asks for presence, nothing more.
- Give the puja and the meal separate times. Many relatives come for one and not the other.
- Send it a week ahead, to each family rather than a group, so that elders can plan travel.
- Mention the lift or the stairs if the puja is at home. The grandparents' generation will come.

## Send the barsi message on WhatsApp so each family can reply

Paste the message once and every relative receives it individually on WhatsApp with Yes and No buttons. The replies come back quietly, and they help the family plan the prasad and the seating.

1. 1Copy the message that suits your family and change the name, the date and the venue.
2. 2Add the people you want to inform and send it from Eventi so each person receives it individually on WhatsApp, not in a group.
3. 3Each message carries Yes and No buttons so relatives can tell you quietly whether they will attend, and you can see who has seen it.
