Engagement: 13 ready messages

# Invitation message for engagement
from the parents, from the couple, for the ring ceremony and the roka.

An engagement invitation message does what the card does, in five lines: who is inviting, whose engagement, the date and time of the ring ceremony, the venue, and how to reply. Below are thirteen messages Indian families send on WhatsApp: formal invitations from the bride's and the groom's parents, sagai and roka messages, warm messages from the couple, a simple engagement invitation and templates you can fill in. Copy the one that fits your family, change the names and the date, and send it.

## Engagement invitation messages from the parents

Formal, with both families named, the way the card reads.

1. From the bride's parents

1.Deepak and Rekha Iyer are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Meera to Vikram, son of Harish and Geeta Nair, and would be honoured by your presence at the ring ceremony on Saturday, 14 February 2026, 7 pm, at the Kochi Marriott lawns. Dinner follows. Do come with the family.

## What to include in a engagement invitation message

Check the message covers these points before you send it, so no guest has to ask you for details later.

- Who is inviting: the parents, both families or the couple.
- The names of both the bride and the groom, and the parents' names on a formal message.
- The date, the time of the ring exchange and what follows it, lunch or dinner.
- The venue with a landmark and the city.
- Who is invited: the family, or a plus one.
- A reply-by date with a reason, such as the hotel count.

### Before you send

- Decide who the message is from before writing it. From the parents, it is formal and names both families. From the couple, it is warm and uses first names.
- Say what the evening is: a ring ceremony, a roka at home, a sagai with dinner. Guests dress and plan their time around that one word.
- If the engagement and a reception or sangeet are on different days, send one message per event. One long message with three dates gets one reply.
- Send the invitation two to three weeks ahead and send a two-line reminder with the pinned location three days before.

## Send the engagement invitation on WhatsApp with one-tap replies

Paste the message once and it goes to every guest individually on WhatsApp with Yes, No and Maybe buttons. Both families see the same live count, the hotel gets a real number, and the relatives who have not answered get a gentle nudge before the reply-by date.

1. 1Copy the message you like and change the names, the date, the time and the venue.
2. 2Open the free card maker if you want a visual card to go with it, pick a template and download the PNG with no watermark.
3. 3Add your guest list and send. Every guest receives the message on WhatsApp with one-tap Yes, No and Maybe buttons, and nobody has to install an app.
4. 4Reminders go out on their own to guests who have not replied, and your headcount updates live as the answers come in.

## The message is half the job.
The replies are the other half.

Paste any of these into Eventi and it goes to each guest on WhatsApp with the card and Yes / No / Maybe buttons inside the message. Replies are counted, confirmed guests are asked how many are coming, and the silent ones get a reminder. You pay once per event, by the number of invitations.
