A generic form collects answers but does not know who should be answering. You get a list of whatever people typed, including nicknames, duplicates and guests who were never invited, and then you match it against the real list by hand. A spreadsheet shared in a group chat is worse: everyone can edit it, nobody can be reminded, and the number is never quite right. An online RSVP that starts from your guest list, with one link per guest, removes the matching step entirely. The answer is already attached to the right household, the count of seats offered is enforced, and the people who have not answered are a filter rather than a detective exercise. ## RSVP without WhatsApp, with WhatsApp, or both.
